When Motherwell went into administration on the 25th April 2002, young 16 year old, David Clarkson can be considered very lucky not to be released with the other 20 players. this under 17 scotland internationalist made his 'Well debut later that week against Kilmarnock in a 4-1 victory he came on as a late sub and was unable to make an impact. In season 2002/03 under Terry Butcher David managed to notch up 15 appearances, coming on as a sub eight times and scoring three goals.
